Thank You!
Give DeKalb County Day May 3
Give DeKalb County Day 2018, a 24-hour day of online giving, was a great success for Friends of JAMS. Many thanks to you, our generous supporters! You gave a total of $6,155 to support the important work Jane Adeny Memorial School does to educate and empower its students—future leaders of Kenya.
These funds will provide computers, tables, bookshelves, and other needed items for the new Resource Center and Computer Lab that JAMS is building for the school and the surrounding community.
Currently JAMS has eight computers available for 153 students and their teachers. The new computer lab will give our students greater access to skills and information they need to succeed in their graduation exams, higher education, and their future careers.
The Resource Center will also help JAMS help the local community. In addition to housing the school’s computer lab and library, the center will house two meeting rooms for community education—in order to share information and best practices in agriculture, education, and business with the local community—as well as a storefront for the school to sell bread, eggs, milk, vegetables, and soap made and raised on campus as part of the entrepreneurship education programs at the school.
Asante! Thank you for your support!
