This June, JAMS founders, Teresa Wasonga and Andrew Otieno, broke ground on the Resource Center which will house the school library and a new computer lab, a community education room, a faculty office, the principal’s office, and even a storefront for the products of the school’s microenterprises, such as fresh eggs, bread, and milk.
Not only will the community room be available for sessions at which JAMS’s neighbors can learn farming and business skills, it will provide a space large enough for JAMS students to spread out while they take examinations.
Completion of the building is projected for June of 2019. At that time, the computer lab will house 25 computers while the new library will be twice the size of the current one. Friends of JAMS has committed to furnishing the library and computer lab.
