JAMS Campus Kenya Africa

The COVID-19 pandemic has begun to impact Africa. In mid-March, the Kenyan government closed schools as part of their effort to slow the spread of the virus. JAMS hired private vans and cars to take students home and all the students had left campus by March 19. We received confirmation that students reached their homes safely.

As we wait out the pandemic, JAMS decided to retain teachers and campus staff on the payroll. In this way, valuable and experienced employees can be retained, their families supported, and the school can start up again quickly as soon as the shelter-in-place order is lifted. The on-campus micro-enterprises like the dairy and the poultry operation are being maintained.
