As we approach December 2, the global day of generosity known as Giving Tuesday, JAMS students and staff hope you will consider expressing your support with a gift.

This is a challenging year at JAMS. The Kenyan government has adopted a new set of education requirements with very immediate implications. Those include, but are not limited to, specific learning specialties (STEM and Social Sciences at JAMS), new emphasis on cooperative, team-based learning, and physical education requirements with dedicated facilities and equipment.

While JAMS’ enrollment grows, new requirements mean the school needs additional textbooks, classroom furniture, an indoor gym, and outdoor sports fields.

You can give in two ways – by check addressed to Friends of JAMS, P.O. Bo 229, Sycamore, IL 60178, or by credit card at our website.

The Sparks Lab Chemistry Classroom

New Kenyan education requirements call for schools to specialize in certain curricula. JAMS was approved to offer classes in STEM and Social Sciences. Here the girls work on experiments in the Sparks Science Lab.

JAMS must also offer more formalized physical education beginning next year. A formal soccer field will be built, as well as a gymnasium.
