JAMS students on campus

“Thank you for the scholarship as you have provided a light to my education.” — E, JAMS student, August 2023

Please support the girls at JAMS on the global day of generosity, Giving Tuesday, held this year on November 28, or in your end-of-year charitable giving.

Our goal is to provide 33 new scholarships for the Class of 2027 which will enter JAMS in January 2024. We have already raised 23 scholarships! Can you help us raise ten more?

Can you help provide an “education good enough for the richest, open to the poorest?”

You can give in two ways:

Gifts of any amount are very welcome and make a difference. A full scholarship is $800/year and provides tuition, room and board, clothes, school supplies, and medical care. You can become a sponsor of an individual student when you give $400 or more; you will receive letters and grade reports from her.

Why are scholarships for Kenyan girls to attend high school so needed?

  • In Kenya, even public high schools charge fees and room and board, preventing many young people from completing high school.
  • Every year of school achieved increases health and prosperity for women, their children, and their communities. UNICEF calls this the “double dividend” from investing in girls.
  • Boarding school provides three meals a day and security to girls living in poverty. Just walking to school can be dangerous for girls in many places.

The Class of 2023

A high school education makes possible greater prosperity, better health, and more self-determination for young women and their future families. For JAMS grads, it has meant that the great majority of them have been able to go on to further education and prepare for careers in business, education, agriculture, medicine, science, security, and computer science. Their success is also success for their communities, their nation, and ultimately the world.

Please help us change the world, one girl at a time!
