On October 10, 2024, nearly 150 friends of JAMS got together in DeKalb, Illinois to celebrate Friends of JAMS 10th anniversary and ten classes of JAMS graduates. Friends of JAMS Board President Anne Kaplan noted that requests for donations often come with tales of dire consequences without immediate financial support. “JAMS, on the contrary, is thriving, it is a wonderful success, and it makes us all very proud. By contributing to JAMS, you are investing in the growth of more and more success stories.”

The banquet raised $13,548 for growth-oriented projects, including more than $4000 for scholarships.  The authentic Kenyan food prepared by Teresa Wasonga & Friends was a hit with guests, who went back for seconds and thirds. The Kenyan market, large silent auction, and African fabric quilt raffle were busy throughout the evening. Donors compared stories about the JAMS students they sponsored and commented on the school’s extraordinary growth and success.

Thanks are due to our guests, donors, sponsors, and volunteers for their enthusiastic support of Jane Adeny Memorial School. Asante Sana!
