Spanish Serenade, our second annual music and treats (wine, cheese, and chocolates) fundraiser was a great success.
The event raised ten full-year scholarships for orphaned and impoverished girls who would not otherwise be able to go to high school as well as funds for entrepreneurship and agricultural projects at the school.
In total, generous donors gave over $26,000 — our most successful fundraiser to date!
On behalf of the students, the teachers, and the volunteers at Friends of Jane Adeny Memorial School for Girls, we thank you all for your generosity!
Thanks go to Fareed Haque, Andrea Salcedo, and Hanna Bingham, who provided guitar music, and HyVee of Sycamore, which hosted a wine, cheese and chocolate tasting, and many generous individuals and local businesses who donated items or sponsored the event in other ways. Many thanks to Blackhawk Moving and Storage, Blumen Gardens, Collins Dental Group, Delano’s Home Decorating, Egyptian Theatre, Flippin’ Eggs, Jamrah Middle Eastern Cuisine, Kishwaukee Hospital Leishman Center for Culinary Health, NIU—especially Brad Hoey, Parkway Restaurant, Pittsley Realty, Provident Direct, PRP International Wines, Shawn’s Café, Sycamore Parks and Recreation, Tapa La Luna Restaurant, and Tom Taylor Construction.
